Aztec city of Calixtlahuaca, Jakowchuk is examining stylistic, political and geographic factors that influenced the production of projectile points, chipped stone artifacts used as multi-purpose tools, during the post-classic period, right before the Spanish conquest. This spring, she presented her findings at the Society for American Archaeology conference in Portland. decided to run a marathon just to see if she could do it. “It’s how I dealt with my stress, and once I decided to do it, I wasn’t going to quit. It was a huge sense of accomplishment and it taught me, ‘you can do hard stuff.’” Rosenlund says the ABSN program is for self-starters who can be flexible with their time. “Much of the work is asynchronous and self-driven, so you have to commit to it.” That commitment paid off. Jazmyn, like so many other students, formed numerous memories on those couches. “I’ve laughed on those couches. I’ve cried on those couches.
