Busick ’99, MBA ’09, was Adams’s business professor at PLU. Busick, who also serves as Tacoma’s MultiCare Health System chief technology officer and vice president, was at a conference dinner when a colleague — a hiring manager at Nike — asked him to recommend someone for an open position. The person he recommended was Adams. And, so, they decided to call her up right there during dinner.
