By Greg Brewis According to the results of a national survey, student satisfaction with PLU continues to exceed national norms on 10 of 12 scales. The Student Satisfaction Inventory asks students to identify the issues that are most important to them. March 21, 2011 PLU for Japan A student-led effort to raise funds for victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan began last week on campus. In four days, as of Friday, more than $3,000 was raised. Donations will continue to be received on Campus by the Old Main Market in the UC through Wednesday, March 23. April 11, 2011 Earth Week The celebration and dedication of a student led effort to restore habitat on campus to its native state, is one of the many highlights for Earth Week at PLU. October 21, 2011 PLU’s first solar panel system arrives in 2012 By: Katie Scaff ’13 PLU is that much closer to being carbon neutral by 2020 thanks to a $50,000 Solar 4R Schools grant from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. The grant will pay for a 20-ft solar panel system, which will be installed on the Facilities Building   in March 2012.Designs are currently underway. February 14, 2012 Posters aim to bring awareness to campus By Chris Albert This June, PLU will become a tobacco-free campus, but in the meantime posters and postcards are on display to spark conversation about the campus-wide change. “To gear up we’ve decided to do several educational initiatives to raise awareness,” said Matt Munson, Health Educator at the Health Center.
