Amanda Dodson, Senior Capstone Seminar About 37% of U.S. adults are diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome (MetS), which is the combination of metabolic risk factors including insulin resistance,
rechargeability. However, the current electrolyte solution makes use of volatile organic solvents which are a combustion hazard. A possible solution to improving the safety of these batteries is to replace the volatile solvents with an ionically conductive polymer. This research focuses on the synthesis of a single ion containing monomer and its subsequent ring opening metathesis polymerization.
