Jenny teaches American literature from 1860 to the present, with a special emphasis on the representation of race, gender and sexuality in fiction written after 1945. She also teaches a Writing 101 course on water, politics and place for the First Year Experience Program. My teaching interests encompass a wide range of subjects, from my specialties in Caribbean, Latinx, and Central American Studies, to my passion for teaching Spanish for Heritage Speakers. When I’m not teaching or writing, I enjoy yoga, hiking, cooking with my husband, and playing with our two rambunctious sons.
