like under the direction of Harris, and music majors Zyreal Oliver-Chandler ’25, Madison Ely ’23 and Ashton Allen ’25. The Artist Mentoring Program was active in the Parkland community for many years, but fell by the wayside when previous student leadership graduated. Harris was encouraged to revitalize the program by PLU faculty members she met with throughout the past year. Thanks in part to supportive donors, the two-week camp provides free music classes to elementary and middle-school students

style. Here’s what a few of the jazz students had to say about the classes: I appreciated that the focus with each clinic wasn’t on the clinician’s instrument itself as well as the conversational aspect. Posted by: Reesa Nelson / February 28, 2020 February 28, 2020 PLU Music was featured twice in the most recent edition of the International Trumpet Guild Journal, an industry publication for trumpet players, teachers, manufactures, and music publishers. With thousands of members in over 60 countries, the Journal is an important resource for anyone interested in the trumpet profession. The Journal reviewed the Lyric Brass Quintet’s 2018 album, Luther 501, recorded at
