Mussels are a valuable sentinel species used to assess hazards of pollutants in ecosystems. Here, the concentrations of As, Cd, and Pb were measured in eight composite samples of mussel (Mytilus trossulus and Mytilus californianus) collected in July 2018 and April 2018. Samples were collected from four locations within five miles of the previous American Smelting and Refining Company (ASARCO) smelter in Tacoma, Washington.
