Dowland teaches courses in PLU’s International Honors, First-Year Experience, Religion, and Gender, Sexuality, and Race Studies programs. His classes offer interdisciplinary perspectives on American religions, with particular emphasis on the ways religion interacts with gender, race, politics, and violence.
